NFS Technology Group has hosted an event for young facilities management to pick up on the issues facing the sector in today’s working environment.
The young facilities managers, including representatives from Barclays, MITIE and Bouygues came together to discuss topics including the multi-generational work force and how to influence the client and demonstrate the true significance of facilities management.
As the chair of the event, Andrew Hulbert, Managing Director of Pareto Facilities Management said: “As one of the fastest growing professions in the UK, this is an exciting time for the facilities management industry. ‘FM’ is gaining strategic ground as it becomes more involved in various elements of business and workplace; it is no longer just about delivering services.”
“The event held by NFS was a great opportunity to debate the momentum of this strategic growth and how to work through real issues we are experiencing.
“For me, the key concept that came out of this discussion was re-establishing ‘what the client wants’ from their facilities management function. The answer to this question is the golden chalice for us all, but working towards truly understanding this will allow us to capture the attention of those at board level. With this in mind, we look forward to continuing the debate!”
